I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. My journey first started in 2006 as a Youth Director at a church and realized that the teens and parents I ministered to needed more help than what my education and experience were so I went back to get my Master’s degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University. During that time I also gained experience working with teen girls in the areas of conflict resolution, anger management, substance abuse, and low self-esteem.
I continued my counseling journey by doing intensive in-home counseling for families with youth at risk of being placed out of the home or who had just been placed back into the family home. I have also worked with parents that have substance abuse issues that resulted in DCF involvement and helped them overcome their addictions to become reunited with their children.
I have spent the past 6 years working in home, in schools, Private Practice and residential mental health programs. I have helped both adults, teens, children, families, and couples find hope and healing from a variety of different disorders and stressors.
I have spent two years of my life living overseas. One year living in England where I helped develop a drug education program for high school students that we taught in the schools around Liverpool. The second year I spent 11 months in 11 different countries doing a wide array of mission work such as teaching English, farming, camps for kids, working with homeless populations and encouraging missionaries.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication from Flagler College in 2004 and my Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2008.
I am a DBT trained Therapist. I also utilize CBT and TF-CBT. I love to individalize my sessions to my clients personalities, problems, and needs. I also use art and play therapy techniques with kids and teens.
